Pick a mode, accent and font

We reused this demo from an official public release and cropped out the personal navigation. It was recorded at a different window size than the newer screenshots.

The Appearance page shows System, Light and Dark modes, eight accent colors and four font choices. The demo changes the accent and font in light mode. It then switches to dark mode and changes the choices again. A generic group preview reflects each selection.

Direct conversations have their own inbox. This one, with three people, has formatted messages, reactions and a thread.
Add a conversation to your favorites, mute it, or open its shared files, links and members.
Each conversation has a set list of members. Only those people get its messages.
Reply in a thread without breaking into the main conversation. The thread has its own box for writing.
React to a message, reply to it, or edit and delete your own messages. We didn't change any message.
Search one conversation for a word and see the messages that match.

Say how the server is run, choose who can see your domain blocks and the reasons for them, and add a contact email.
Name a contact account, then write your own privacy policy and terms of use in Markdown. Leave them blank to use the defaults.
Set your server's display name, cover and overview, and check the public page in the live preview.
Choose the default display mode, theme color and font for everyone on the server, or reset them to the built-in defaults. Nothing changes until you click Save.
The Access tab has settings for public access to the server, the Help group option and open federation.
Limit failed password attempts, choose how long the count lasts, and unlock an account that got locked after failed sign-ins.
The Registration tab covers approval, invitations, CAPTCHA, and closing sign-ups automatically when nobody on staff uses the server.
The default roles are admin, moderator and user. Duplicate one to make a custom role.
Add a server rule with a short title and an explanation. Rules show up on the server's About page.
The Content tab has the Markdown defaults and the limits for post length, number of attachments and pinned posts.
The image policy covers keeping original files, file size, resolution and conversion.
Set limits on size, length and resolution for uploaded videos. Videos over the streaming threshold also get an adaptive HLS stream.
The custom emoji editor shows the file requirements, a shortcode, a category, and whether the emoji shows in the picker.
Look at a report with its reason and the reported account, assign someone to review it, then dismiss it or moderate the account.
Find local and remote accounts by username, email or other fields, then open one to moderate it.
Staff can add a private note to an account so other admins know the background. We didn't save this note.
Find local groups by name, privacy, visibility or join mode, and open one to moderate it.
Staff notes on a group record what moderators checked, so other staff know the background before they act.
When sign-ups need approval, each request shows up here with the person and why they want to join. This server has no pending requests.
Follow admin changes such as new accounts, group updates, moderation notes and rule changes.
Block a domain to stop federating with it, add public and private comments, and manage the blocklists you subscribe to. No domain is blocked on this server.
Import a Mastodon-compatible CSV, or subscribe to a curated public blocklist and choose how often it syncs. We didn't subscribe to a list.

Check for available updates and choose how often the server installs them on its own.

The relay page shows a relay connection, its delivery mode and its ingest counters. We didn't connect a relay.
Group owners edit the group's cover, avatar, name, address, description and location.
A group can let anyone join, review requests to join, or only accept people who were invited.
Choose whether people can find the group, and whether non-members see its post counts and member list.
A group can be public or private. The secret group option is shown, but it isn't available yet.
The owner picks a member to become the new owner and stays on as a group admin. Nothing was transferred here.
A group can mix public and private channels, pick a primary channel and subscribe new members automatically.
A public group can have private channels. The form is filled in but wasn't submitted.
A group can have open rooms for every member and closed rooms for a smaller set of members. The server has to have rooms turned on.
Opening a closed room asks you to confirm, because every member can then read its history. The dialog isn't confirmed here.
Admins and moderators go through each request, read the answers to the membership questions, then accept or reject it.
Admins see who invited whom, and can cancel an invitation that's still open.
Reports from members land in a queue with status tabs and filters. The queue is empty here.
The member directory shows each person's role, recent activity and post count, with search and tabs for new members and staff.
A group can block one account or a whole domain. These rules keep a promotional account from coming back.
A block rule can name a user URL, username, email, user ID or domain, with a note for other admins. The form wasn't submitted.
With pre-moderation on, members' posts wait in a queue until a moderator approves them. Scheduled posts are only available through the API.
Group admins see storage use, the upload rate and the next quota tier, and can ask for an increase. A list of the group's files isn't available yet.
Built-in roles cover owners, admins, moderators and members. A group can add its own roles too, such as an event organizer.
Admins write, edit and reorder the rules shown on the community profile.
People who ask to join answer these questions, and admins read the answers with each join request.
A group lists its useful links. A link that points back to the group profile can be verified.
A group can give an AI bot its own profile. The card shows what the bot still needs before it can run.

Groups pick AI providers and the models their bots may use. No provider is set up here.
Group AI bots can use tools from MCP servers, either a built-in preset with its API key or a custom server. None is connected here.
Admins decide where AI image generation is allowed, which model it uses and how many images each person can make per day.
A group can install eligible apps, such as Chess, next to its built-in feed, forum and events. Support for a wider range of custom apps is planned.
Select a member to see their profile, role and staff notes in one panel.
Pre-moderation can apply to individual members. Here, posts from the group's AI bot wait for approval.
Each member has one history that holds both staff notes and moderation actions.
Moderators can ban a member or clear earlier restrictions. Timeout and manual approval are shown but turned off here. Nothing was submitted.
Only moderators and admins can see staff notes, never the member. This note wasn't saved.
My Events gathers the events you organize and the ones you're invited to, with a way to respond to each invitation.
A personal event gets a name, a cover, a start time with its time zone, a place, an optional online link and a description.
A personal event can be public, unlisted or invite-only.
An invite-only event goes to the people you pick. Only they can see the event and answer the invitation.
The Following view gathers public events from the people you follow.
Discover searches public events beyond the people you follow. Invite-only and private events don't show up there.
With a public calendar link, any calendar app can subscribe to your events. A private link uses a secret address that you can regenerate.
An event page shows the time, place, description and host, and how many people are going or interested.
From the organizer menu you can delete an event, copy it as a new one or download it as an iCalendar file.
The organizer confirms the cancellation. A canceled event stays visible with a gray cover.
Someone who's invited answers Yes, No or Maybe. The organizer sees who's going.
For a public event, people can say they're interested or that they're going. The page counts both.
Every event has its own discussion for questions and plans.
A group keeps its events in its own list and calendar, next to its channels and forum.
Members with permission can create events for the whole group.
A group event can be public, unlisted or private to the group's members.
Each group bot has its own profile, settings tabs and a setup panel. Changes stay in a draft until you publish them.
A trigger decides when the bot acts. It can be a new post or reply, a mention, a question, a keyword, a report, a new member or a schedule.
Permissions limit what the bot is allowed to do in the group.
You can limit a bot to certain channels and forum categories.
The Try bot panel runs a test conversation with the draft setup. It needs an AI model first.
A group can send events to an HTTPS endpoint, or queue them for a service to collect through the API.
Choose an HTTP webhook that pushes events to an endpoint, or a pull webhook that holds them in a queue until they're collected.
An HTTP webhook needs a name, an HTTPS endpoint and the events it should get. The form wasn't submitted.
A group room keeps quick community chat in one place, next to the group's posts and forum.
The room menu opens the room's shared files, links and members. Staff can also close, rename or delete the room.
The feed shows formatted text, an inline spoiler that a reader reveals with a click, and a poll readers can answer right there.
The new post form keeps the media, emoji, poll, content warning and location controls together. The picker for who sees the post and the Post button are at the bottom.
The audience menu sets who can see a post and whether people can comment on it.
A poll lives inside a post. Add choices, then pick single or multiple choice and how long the poll stays open.
A warning can cover the whole post or just its media. The media-only option is turned off while the post has no media.
A warning on the whole post hides the text until a reader chooses to show it. The author can add their own reason.
A post can include a place. The location field opens inside the post form.
A chain keeps connected posts in one form. Each part has its own text and controls, and you publish the whole chain in one step.
The discovery feed can show posts from all servers, just the local server or just remote servers.
The share menu offers a repost and a quote post. Repost is turned off here because the post belongs to the signed-in author.
From the author menu you can edit a post, open its edit and activity history, turn comments off or delete the post.
The edit history keeps every version of a post with its date and time.
A post can include a video that plays right in the post. This one is a short screen recording of the Welley appearance settings.
The menu on someone else's post lets you subscribe to their updates, mute or block them, or report the post.
For each topic, the list shows its category, tags, replies, views, participants and emoji reactions.
Pick a category to see only its topics.
Sort the topic list by newest topics, most replies, most views or latest activity.
Group staff manage the forum categories and give each one a name, a description and a color.
A forum topic keeps the plan, the reactions and the replies of a discussion in one place.
