    Save a post you haven't finished and pick it up again when you're ready.
    
    -   A draft brings back your text, attachments, poll, location, content warning and who can see it.
    -   The Drafts page opens each draft in the right composer.

    Add media to a post and open it in the media viewer.
    
    -   Upload media or paste it from your clipboard into the composer.
    -   The viewer shows image galleries and plays videos.
    
    Your server sets the file types, file sizes and upload limits.

    The new post form keeps the media, emoji, poll, content warning and location controls together. The picker for who sees the post and the Post button are at the bottom.

    Post videos within your server's limits. Longer videos can stream.
    
    -   When you upload a video, Welley makes several versions of it.
    -   Videos over the streaming threshold also get an HLS stream.
    
    Your server sets the limits for length, resolution, file size and quota. By default, a video can be up to 600 seconds long.

    Set limits on size, length and resolution for uploaded videos. Videos over the streaming threshold also get an adaptive HLS stream.

    Make a poll where people pick one answer or several.
    
    -   Set an end time, or keep the poll open with no end time.
    -   You can also hide the vote totals.
    -   Readers can vote and see the results.
    
    Once someone has voted, Welley won't let you change the choices or the voting rules.

    Give a post a place, along with its text and media.
    
    -   Pick the place in the composer.
    -   The place shows up as part of the post.

    A post can include a place. The location field opens inside the post form.

    Put a warning over the whole post, or mark just the media as sensitive.
    
    -   A warning on the whole post covers the text, media, poll, preview and location.
    -   If you only mark the media, people can still see the text.
    -   Welley understands the ActivityPub summary warnings that Mastodon uses.

    A warning can cover the whole post or just its media. The media-only option is turned off while the post has no media.

-   ### [Inline spoilers](https://welley.com/posts/inline-spoilers/)
    
    Hide an answer, a plot detail or any other bit of text until a reader chooses to show it.
    
    -   Each spoiler opens on its own.
    -   In plain-text previews, a placeholder stands in for the spoiler.
    -   Welley also recognizes blurred text in posts that come from Misskey.
    
    This works for text only. Media spoilers aren't part of this feature.

-   ### [Pick who sees each post](https://welley.com/posts/post-audience/)
    
    Post publicly, as unlisted or to followers only.
    
    -   Anyone can see a public post.
    -   Unlisted posts are still public. They don't show up in public discovery or search, but they can appear in your followers' Following feeds.
    -   Followers-only posts are visible to you, your accepted followers and anyone you mention. Direct conversations have their own inbox.
    
    Unlisted is still public. It isn't a private link. Limited accounts can't post publicly or as unlisted.

    The audience menu sets who can see a post and whether people can comment on it.
    
-   ### [Turn comments on or off](https://welley.com/posts/post-comments/)
    
    Switch comments off when a post doesn't need replies.
    
    -   The composer has an option to allow comments.
    -   You can turn comments on or off later from the post's actions.
    
    This is separate from who can see the post. Other Fediverse apps may show the reply restriction differently.

    From the author menu you can edit a post, open its edit and activity history, turn comments off or delete the post.

    Use formatting when a post needs some structure.
    
    -   You can use headings, lists, links, quotes, code, tables and inline styles.
    -   Select some text to get a formatting toolbar.
    -   Posts from other servers keep any formatting that Welley supports.
    
    Other Fediverse apps may show only the formatting they support.

    Repost something as is, or quote it and add your own text.
    
    -   The share menu has repost and quote options.
    -   A quote draft is kept apart from your regular post draft.
    
    What you can do depends on who can see the original post and on its permissions.

    The share menu offers a repost and a quote post. Repost is turned off here because the post belongs to the signed-in author.
    
-   ### [Likes and emoji reactions](https://welley.com/posts/post-reactions/)
    
    Like a post or react with an emoji when you don't need to write a reply.
    
    -   Each reaction shows how many people used it.
    -   You can see who used each reaction.
    -   The emoji picker includes your server's custom emoji.

    Bookmark a post for later, or pin one that's eligible.
    
    -   Saved posts have their own Bookmarks page.
    -   Pinning puts an eligible post in a prominent spot.
    
    Whether you can pin a post depends on who owns it and on the permissions where it was posted.

    Edit an eligible post and see its edit history.
    
    -   You'll find Edit and Edits history in the post's actions.
    -   The activity view keeps a separate record of how people interacted with the post.
    
    Some parts of a post can't be freely edited, like a poll that already has votes.

    Keep unwanted accounts or domains away from you.
    
    -   The blocklist page lists muted accounts, blocked accounts and blocked domains separately.
    -   Muting keeps an account's content out of your feeds.
    -   When you mute an account, you can choose separately whether to hide its notifications too.

    The menu on someone else's post lets you subscribe to their updates, mute or block them, or report the post.
    
-   ### [Earlier posts when you follow someone](https://welley.com/posts/older-post-sync/)
    
    When you follow a remote account, Welley can fetch its earlier posts.
    
    -   Your server pulls in the account's post history in the background.
    -   The profile shows while the history sync is running.
    -   The sync fills in gaps that the first page of remote posts can leave.
    
    How much history arrives depends on the remote server and the limits that are set. There's no guarantee you'll get an account's complete history.
