# Review posts before they're published

Use a queue of pending posts when content needs staff approval.

-   Review channel posts, forum topics and replies in one moderation queue.
-   Filter pending items by channel and by when they were sent.
-   Approve a post, or reject it and optionally tell the author why.

Approval covers the supported ways of posting locally. Posts that come in over ActivityPub don't go through every local approval check.

With pre-moderation on, members' posts wait in a queue until a moderator approves them. Scheduled posts are only available through the API.
