# How people join

Let people join right away, ask for approval or wait for an invitation.

-   With open membership, people join right away.
-   In approval mode, each join request goes to the group staff.
-   In invite-only mode, people need an invitation. The public Join option can't let them in.

A group can let anyone join, review requests to join, or only accept people who were invited.
