# Forums and categories

Use a forum with separate categories for longer discussions.

- Create categories, each with its own name, description, color and access rules.
- Organize posts into topics with reply threads.
- Move a topic to another category in the same group.

Group staff manage the forum categories and give each one a name, a description and a color.

A forum topic keeps the plan, the reactions and the replies of a discussion in one place.
